Journey to be a tester.

If in all any one starts a career there are reasons why someone does it.

1. Passion or Love for what you do.
2. You need something to do.
3. You don't have any other option.

You would have already got one reason from above on what you are doing now. Now for reasons 2 & 3 is a big section. If that was not case world would have been a better place. So Economics justifies my means and my target audience. Let me be honest, I belong to reason 2. I have freaked out in my engineering college and did not have much purpose in life and need to do something that could save my ass. I fancied software testing as this gave an easy route to booming IT industry and I felt I can still work out with my High school skills.

I started my Career with Win Runner Automation, did some addition for QTP Framework, did data Warehouse testing for a Retail giant, an integration test for Survey test project, worked on an application mining tool, did testing for DOS migration project changed company and started testing an AS 400 application, interfaces with AS 400 application and automation using TestBench. All this includes project from investement banking, retail, research and analysis, mortgage and last but not least Casino operations.

I am learning the trade on work and work has been a great teacher. Matter of fact when I named the blog I called it amateur tester even though I am professional tester and I still feel I have a long way to go.

When I thought about why I need one blog it was more of a personal front because I still see lot of young Indians still queue up for the job just to try it whether they can make it. There only thing is lack of exposure.

I would hence try to share something which I have learned, has experience and what I missed testing and what I learnt better and what all questions I need to ask before testing on any project.
